Each “leg” of the Creole Nature Trail provides unique opportunities to experience the remarkable beauty of this habitat. From west to east, heading south from Sulphur (Exit 20 on I-10) here are a few suggestions. This is followed by more detailed information on each activity.

Sulphur south to Cameron (on LA 27)
• Crabbing and fishing at Hog Island Gully, Blue Crab & West Cove  recreation centers
• Bird viewing and picnicking
• Hiking along the Blue Goose Trail (at Sabine NWR)
• Strolling on the Wetland Walkway at Sabine to view wildflowers, marsh-grass, birds, alligators and other marsh life

Cameron west to Sabine River (Western Spur on LA 82)
