Go Fish!
Freshwater fishing. Brackish or saltwater fishing. Side-of-the-road fishing. Surf-fishing on the beaches. If you have a boat (launches) or if you’ve hired a guide (fishing guides), go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico or “deep-in-the-marsh.” Along the Creole Nature Trail, variety is the spice of life and the options are pretty much endless. And don't forget numerous waterways along the Creole Nature Trail offer perfect locations to drop a line, tip your sun hat forward and wait for a nibble. Fishing Favorites
• Beaches: Little Florida/Oceanview, Peveto, Longview-Dunn, Gulf Breeze, Constance, Holly and Rutherford.
• Manmade constructions: stone breakwaters west of Holly Beach (built to stop beach erosion), the Cameron jetties (built to keep the shipping channel open), and near oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Famous Fish
    * 10.13 pound speckled trout in Calcasieu Lake
    * 12.38 pound speckled trout South of the trail in the Gulf of Mexico
    * 11.25 pound red snapper 14 miles south of the Rockefeller Refuge
    * 36" king mackerel at Southwest Pass
    * Numerous 35 or 40 lb. redfish caught along the trail
    * 60 to 70 lb. black drum caught along the trail.

Licenses
All persons 16 years of age and older must have a valid Louisiana fishing license in their possession. You can purchase recreational hunting and fishing licenses through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries’ toll free number: 888-765-2602. They are payable by Visa, MasterCard or electronic check. You’ll receive an authorization number for your immediate use, and the actual license will be mailed.
