The Friends of the Creole Nature Trail, Inc. (Friends of the CNT) organization was formed to foster educational experiences for visitors along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. Designated as an All-American Road because of its intrinsic recreational, natural, cultural, historical, scenic and archaeological qualities, the Creole Nature Trail must be managed and preserved for the sake of future generations.

Through the building of new informative interpretation and observation infrastructure, the Friends of the Creole Nature Trail will engage younger generations in the discovery and preservation of this fragile ecosystem. In addition, because the Creole Nature Trail eco-system provides the seafood as well as oil and gas for much of the United States, the group partners with companies in the Southwest Louisiana area who are working to conserve the environment even as they do their business.

It is the goal of the Friends of the Creole Nature Trail, Inc. that children and adults who experience the natural wonders of this place affectionately called "Louisiana's Outback" will, without even realizing they are learning, acquire knowledge in scientific fields such as ornithology, herpetology, conservation and the environment. The need is urgent to protect these disappearing coastal wetlands from coastal erosion as well as environmental hazards. Fostering the knowledge of this critical need in our children and grandchildren, through support and involvement along the Trail, is the best means of preserving this national treasure for future generations.

To help us preserve the Creole Nature Trail, you can join the Friends of the Creole Nature Trail, Inc. Members will not only receive the benefits listed below but will be kept apprised of opportunities to actively participate in activities and events along the trail.
